There is something extra special about celebrating a first birthday—but when you’re celebrating two little ones turning one together, the joy is doubled.

These sweet twins came into the studio for a colorful and playful first birthday cake smash session, and from the moment they arrived, they had everyone smiling. Between curious glances, tiny frosting-covered fingers, and the sweetest matching birthday crowns, this session perfectly captured the personality of each child while documenting this milestone they’ll only experience once.

One Year of Growing Together

One-year sessions are always emotional for parents. The first year is filled with so many changes—from sleepy newborn cuddles to first smiles, first steps, and everything in between.

For twins, that journey is even more unique. Watching these two interact throughout the session was such a reminder that their bond has been growing since day one.

For this session, we kept the setup clean and timeless with a bright white backdrop, colorful balloons, playful birthday bunting, and personalized birthday crowns.

The simple design allowed the focus to stay exactly where it belonged—on these two sweet birthday babies.

Once the cake arrived, things got even better.

There were frosting-covered hands, tiny bites of cake, curious expressions, and lots of giggles. The best part of any cake smash session is that every baby reacts differently, and twins make it twice as fun. One sibling dove right in while the other took a more thoughtful approach before deciding the cake was definitely worth exploring.
