There is something incredibly special about photographing a family in the place where their newest chapter begins.
I recently had the pleasure of documenting Baby Hudon’ in-home newborn session in Verona, New Jersey. Rather than rushing out of the house with a brand-new baby, his family chose to preserve these first memories in the comfort of their own home—a choice that resulted in some of my favorite images from the session.
From quiet moments by the fireplace to soft window-light portraits in the nursery, every image tells a small piece of their family’s story.
One of the things I love most about in-home newborn photography is that no two sessions are ever the same. The nursery carefully prepared before baby’s arrival, the rocking chair where countless late-night cuddles will happen, and the tiny details that will one day feel like distant memories all become part of the story.
Hudson’s nursery was filled with thoughtful touches, including a sweet Lion King theme that perfectly complemented the warm, earthy tones we used throughout the session. The natural textures, cozy blankets, and soft light created a timeless look that allows the focus to remain exactly where it belongs—on the connection between this new family.
Newborn sessions aren’t about perfection. They’re about remembering.
The way your baby fit perfectly in your arms.
The tiny fingers and curled-up toes.
The sleepy stretches.
The overwhelming feeling of love that fills every room.
Those are the moments worth preserving.

Many families love in-home newborn photography because it allows them to stay relaxed in a familiar environment while documenting this fleeting season of life.
Benefits include:
My newborn sessions are designed to be calm, baby-led, and stress-free. Whether you prefer a lifestyle session in your home or a newborn session in my Ringwood studio, my goal is to create timeless images that help you remember exactly how this season felt.
If you’re expecting and looking for a newborn photographer in Ringwood, Bergen County, or Northern New Jersey, I would love to help you document these first precious weeks.
I’d love to hear about your growing family.
